2007 - Porter Wagoner gave his first Los Angeles concert in nearly 40 years, opening for Neko Case at the Henry Fonda Theatre. Marty Stuart was his guitarist; Dwight Yoakam played bass and Billy Bob Thornton was on drums.

2002 - Hank Williams, Jr. and Kid Rock teamed up for a CMT Crossroads taping.

2001 - Jamie O'Neal picked up a number one hit with "There is No Arizona."

2001 - Brad Paisley was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry as he wore the yellow jacket Buck Owens wore the night he recorded his Live at Carnegie Hall album.

1996 - Joe Diffie's song "Bigger Than the Beatles" went to number one.

1995 - John Michael Montgomery's single "I Can Love You Like That" was released.

1993 - With his version of "Stand By Your Man" featured in the film The Crying Game, Lyle Lovett performed the tune with Tammy Wynette on The Tonight Show.

1969 – Johnny Cash recorded a session with Bob Dylan in Nashville. The only duet released from that session was "Girl From the North Country."

1965 - "Tennessee Waltz" was declared Tennessee's official state song.
