Almost a year after releasing his previous single, Kenny Chesney will return to country radio on July 12 with âTip of My Tongue.â
Co-penned by Kenny, Ross Copperman and Ed Sheeran, âTip of My Tongueâ will be the first taste of Kennyâs upcoming 18th studio album, which will be released via Blue Chair/Warner Music Nashville.
âItâs funny how a figure of speech can lead you to all kinds of places,â says Kenny. âYou start talking, and words fall out, and anything can happen. When you go in and write on any given day, the chemistry is what it is. When the idea fell out, we all just laughed and went, âWell, what can we do with that?â Iâve written so much with Ross [Copperman], thatâs always easy. He brought Ed [Sheeran] in, and he is such a great writer . . . The way creativity works in creative people is so different, but itâs always exciting. As a co-write with a new writer, itâs one of the most fun sessions Iâve done in a long time. I get why people love working with him.â
No released date has been announced for the new album, which will be helmed by longtime producer Buddy Cannon.
âTip of My Tongueâ arrives on July 12 at 5 a.m. CT.
