Keifer and Shawna Thompson tested their 15 years of wedded bliss today on America’s Morning Show by playing our own “Not-So-Newlywed Game” and trying to match answers! They cracked us up with their honest responses, shared their new single, and performed “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About” live in the studio, too!
You could feel the excitement of the recent release of their new album, “10,000 Towns” when Eli Young Band joined America’s Morning Show today! They laughed about stories concerning their tourmates David Nail and Darius Rucker, as well as giving us the dirt on just exactly what’s in Kathy Lee and Hoda’s cups on the Today Show that they recently played. Mike, Chris, John and James also shared their keys behind songwriting and collaborating musically, the meaning behind the album title, and their new single, “Dust”!
Just over 24 hours after his new album, I’m A Fire, was released, America’s Morning Show spoke with David Nail this morning! David told stories of how he’s poured everything into this project, his appearance on David Letterman and the excitement surrounding it, playing the platinum single, “Whatever She’s Got” and how his wife deals with him being on the road. He also talked about his tour with Darius Rucker and his friendships with some of our favorites in country right now- Eli Young Band and Little Big Town!
Dierks Bentley stopped in for a quick chat to celebrate the release of his new album, Riser, that came out this week! He shared his where the personal inspiration behind all the songs came from, as well as his overwhelming excitement surrounding the week
The lovely Miranda Lambert came into the studio to share her thoughts on her 7 ACM nominations, working harder as a female artist and her new store, The Pink Pistol! She also gave us all the details on her new single “Automatic”, how the lyrics come from a very real place of putting in extra effort and living life without being so sped up, raising money for animals with her beloved MuttNation Foundation and her predictions as to who will win ‘The Voice’! Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum told America’s Morning Show that their studio looked “like a game show” and little did she know how right she was! Hillary, Dave and Charles of Lady Antebellum played a version of the “Lady-wed Game” (like the Newlywed Game) to see how well they knew each other, in addition to chatting about things that make Hillary cry since she’s become a mom, their karaoke bar experiences, and the positivity in their current single, “Compass”!
American Idol alum Scotty McCreery dropped by our studio to talk about his fans on social media, his grandmother from Puerto Rico, a special “pepper bacon” recipe he picked up from a waitress, as well as his love of baseball and his upcoming “See You Tonight” tour!
Certain things in life are a big deal- getting a surprise call from Garth Brooks is pretty high on that list! Garth called in to America’s Morning Show just to see how they’re doing and comment that he was listening to NASH FM
Sheryl Crow came into our studio today to share stories about being one of the guests on the last night of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show, meeting Oprah, and how Brad Paisley talked her into going Country- as well as her battle overcoming cancer, how becoming a mom has changed her, and the personal connections behind her new album, “Feels Like Home”!
America’s Morning Show welcomed a new beautiful and bubbly voice this morning- Kellie Pickler! Kellie gave the scoop about writing her new album The Woman I Am, as well as accepting her image of being real and unfiltered as an artist- hilariously, too! She also took listener questions on the air and gave us an update on life after Dancing With The Stars!
Tyler and Brian of Florida-Georgia Line, stopped by America’s Morning Show fill listeners in on their new pets – sugar gliders! – as well as their whirlwind past months of touring with Jason Aldean, their deluxe edition of “Here’s To The Good Times”, Brian’s ‘secret wedding’ details, and how it feels to have such overwhelming success!
Gary, Jay and Joe Don, or as you know them best – Rascal Flatts – came by America’s Morning Show to talk about everything from recording their new album to filming ABC’s “Nashville”! They also shared stories from their Forbes photoshoot, Gary’s history of his last name, LeVox, and their families!
Blair Garner at America’s Morning Show sat down with Eric Church at his ‘man cave’ – which was later revealed to be Ihop, to talk about everything from Eric’s new album, “The Outsiders” to where he feels country music is going! Plus, he shared what his thoughts are on rap entering the genre, his son Boone’s growing communication skills, and the story behind the lyrics of his new personal single, “Give Me Back My Hometown”!
A man with a few million albums and hit singles under his belt, as well as a hunting buddy of Chuck Wicks and the title of “Buck Commander” strolled into the America’s Morning Show building to hang out on the air this morning – Jason Aldean! Jason shared the details on his exciting tour partnered with Major League Baseball, his new single, “When She Says Baby”, as well as getting into rental-car-destroying shenanigans while at hunting camp with Luke Bryan and the guys from Duck Dynasty!
Blair, Terri and Chuck of America’s Morning Show pinched themselves when they saw who was on the other end of the phone this morning- the legendary Garth Brooks! Garth shared everything from a big congrats to the show to his thoughts on his new projects, including the special on CBS, his box-set of covers out at Walmart and his upcoming 3-year tour. He also gave insight into how he feels like he’s turning into his father while taking care of his daughters, as well as hitting the road with Trisha!
Hillary, Dave and Charles – you know them as Lady Antebellum- called in to America’s Morning Show for a few minutes to congratulate the show on going National, as well as share some thoughts with the listeners on their new single, “Compass” and where the country format in general is headed!
America’s Morning Show welcomed a lot more hair than usual into the studio by the names of Kimberly, Neil and Reid, aka the fabulously-follicled family that makes up The Band Perry! They joined AMS to talk about their first #1 as songwriters with “Done” – complete with Blair, Terri and Chuck’s imitation of the ‘falling off a cliff’ song ending, and also shared stories about being together as a band for over 15 years, childhood horse memories and staying in a haunted hotel, as well as taking YOUR twitter questions on the air!
America’s Morning Show received a surprise call from one of the hardest-working men in country music: Keith Urban! Keith sent his well wishes towards AMS going national, and also shared his thoughts on his double ACM nominations in the same category for Vocal Event of the Year, with both “Highway Don’t Care” and “We Were Us”!
He plays guitar expertly, is one of the most prolific songwriters in country music, is the doting dad of Huck and Jasper and joined America’s Morning Show on the air– Brad Paisley! Brad came in to talk about his new single, “The Mona Lisa” and also shared how his Beat This Winter tour brings the summer even in the polar vortex, he and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s roles on ABC’s ‘Nashville’, and how Blair helped he and his Kimberly’s second date happen!
When you say the words “country legend,” a certain redheaded firecracker comes to mind and Reba herself called in to talk with America’s Morning Show today. She wished the show well in going national, and also gave an update on her African safari vacation, as well as taking a personal question each from Blair, Terri and Chuck!

He also talked about taking time off from touring and that- YES- he is recording new material for an album! And, of course, he shared stories that only HE could share, about watching the SuperBowl in the Virgin Islands, and whether he has any plans for a SuperBowl commercial of his own!
When a big white truck came rambling into the America’s Morning Show parking lot and a fluffy white dog jumped out, we knew who was attached to them: Dierks Bentley!
Dierks hung out in the studio with AMS and congratulated the show on going national! He also spoke candidly about taking time off from the country genre, and how his past few years of experiences with the passing of his father and birth of his son helped craft the personal lyrics and content on his upcoming 7th studio album, Riser! He also shared stories about the struggles of being a traveling musician, but also the joy he gets from doing what he does. Plus, his dog Jake was front and center on one of the microphones, too!

The America’s Morning Show studio looked a little REDder than usual- because Taylor Swift joined us to help kick off the show coming to Brevard county and NASH FM 102 7
Taylor shared about being a role model and connecting with her fans, whether or not she’s actually driven a Maserati, her role in the new movie, “The Giver” and what she thinks of our fancy new studio! Plus, she shared her struggle with fighting off sickness to sing in Nashville, and if that sickness got our own Chuck Wicks sick, too!
America’s Morning Show’s celebrity hotline lit up again this morning and on the other line were 4 of our favorite all-around musicians and people in country- Mike, James, Jon and Chris of the Eli Young Band! The guys shared congrats on the show going national, as well as giving details on their upcoming album out March 4th, “10,000 Towns” and the new single, “Dust”!
